Last week, we asked readers, ‘What are the biggest obstacles to tourism’s recovery?. Of the 183 respondents, the vast majority (52%) chose ‘Red lists/negative travel advisories’.
The other answers had noticeably fewer votes, with ‘Sluggish vaccination roll-outs’ at 19%, and ‘Travellers’ perceptions and ongoing COVID-19 concerns’ at 17%. ‘Lack of government support’ and ‘Not enough global air access’, came in at 7% and 5% respectively.
This week, we’d like to hear from you about source market recovery. Vaccination roll-outs continue to gain momentum globally, and source countries are increasingly easing restrictions for vaccinated travellers.
Based on this, which source markets do you believe will be quickest to return to Southern Africa in significant numbers?
- Traditional European markets (Western Europe)
- Newer European markets (Eastern Europe)
- The US
- The UK
- Africa and the Middle East
- The Far East
