AN alliance agreement between SAA and Tokyo-based ANA is set to create the only network linking Japan and Africa. The airlines, subject to government approval, will codeshare on SAA’s flights between Johannesburg and Hong Kong and ANA’s operations from Hong Kong to Osaka’s Kensai Airport in Japan. The two airlines linked their frequent-flyer programmes last year, allowing mutual mileage accrual and redemption across each other’s networks.
