SAA and Turkish Airlines formalised a codeshare agreement on December 5, offering international travellers seamless access to destinations in Southern Africa.
Under the new agreement, Turkish Airlines will place its flight code on SAA-operated flights from Johannesburg and Cape Town to Durban, Gqeberha (Port Elizabeth), Windhoek, Harare, Victoria Falls and Mauritius. These ticket sales will commence on March 1, 2026.
SAA will place its flight code on Turkish Airlines-operated flights from Istanbul to Frankfurt, Paris and London.
As part of the codeshare, both airlines will explore opportunities to expand their networks through strategic route opportunities.
“Our codeshare agreement with SAA is a meaningful step in further strengthening our presence in the African market and deepening the cooperation between Turkey and South Africa,” said Turkish Airlines Chairman of the Board and Executive Committee, Ahmet Bolat.
