'Speedcop' makes example of Kruger boss

NEWS24.co.za reported yesterday that a traffic officer in the Kruger National Park recently stood his ground when he pulled over David Mabunda, director of the park, and handed him a fine of R200 for exceeding the speed limit by 15km/h. Mabunda allegedly told the officer that he was late for a social event in Skukuza, but to no avail. He was allegedly caught doing 75km/h on the road between the Kruger Gate and Skukuza, where the speed limit is 60km/h. Mabunda is said to have been quite impressed with the diligent officer and said he would gladly pay the fine. (Miguel de Sousa)
