Tanzania launch website to attract Chinese tourists

The Tanzania Tourist Board (TTB), in collaboration with Baidu China, has launched a website to advertise the country's tourist attractions in China and surrounding Asian countries.

Tanzanian Ambassador to China, Mbelwa Kairuki, said a team of 12 content creators were in the country to take pictures of the tourist attractions that would be posted on the website.

"The team will be in the country for 11 days visiting various tourist attractions in the country including the Northern, Eastern, Southern circuits including Ngorongoro Crater, Makumbusho, Bagamoyo and Zanzibar, among many others," he said.

TTB Board Member, Richard Rugimbana, said the use of the Baidu website in China was similar to the way the rest of the world used Google. Statistics showed that 75% of Internet users in China and Asian countries used Baidu.
