Three tonnes of ivory tusks have been stolen from a strong room at the Zambia Wildlife Authority (ZAWA), according to a report by News24.
ZAWA is tasked with wildlife conservation and curbing poaching, which is on the rise in the country.
The authorities believe the theft occurred last week at the ZAWA headquarters in Chilanga, near the capital, Lusaka.
Two game scouts have reportedly been arrested in connection with the theft of the tusks, which are reportedly valued at 2 billion kwacha ($383 658).
