TTB heads to China

The roadshow was to promote interest in Tanzania to the growing Chinese travel market, and to find tourism investors.

The Tanzania Tourist Board (TTB) will host roadshows in four Chinese cities from June 19-26 to promote the country’s tourism offering.

TTB Board of Directors Chairman Thomas Mihayo, said the roadshow was to promote interest in Tanzania to the growing Chinese travel market, and to find tourism investors.

Mihayo said the roadshows would be conducted by TTB and other Tanzanian tourism stakeholders in Beijing, Shanghai, Nanjing and Changsha.

The TTB is increasingly promoting Tanzania as a destination of choice in key tourism markets. Earlier this month the board held a similar roadshow in London, Brussels, Paris and Lyon, after which 135 tour agents agreed to promote Tanzania as a preferred destination.

Last year, the TTB conducted a similar event in Mumbai, India, where it managed to reach over 300 tour agents.
