Wilderness Touring launches culinary journey

Wilderness Touring Cape Town has launched a new signature experience: Cape Town’s Emerging Culinary Landscape, a guided food tour led by Tristan Voss, Manager of The Test Kitchen Fledglings Restaurant.

The tour offers guests a curated exploration of Cape Town’s food scene, focusing on the city’s eastern side, downtown and the V&A Waterfront. Stops include local confectionery delis, a globally recognised coffee shop and the country’s oldest fruit-bearing vine planted in 1771.

Tastings include traditional South African dishes at the Time Out Market and a wine experience that highlights the Cape’s winemaking culture.

“Tristan guides guests through some of Cape Town’s iconic institutions that form the foundation of today’s celebrated culinary scene. They’ll meet the irrepressible Jacqui Bless, Owner of Charly’s Bakery, housed in a colourful Victorian-era building, indulge in irresistible desserts and enjoy exceptional, freshly brewed coffee. Along the way, they’ll pass the Southern Hemisphere’s oldest fruit-bearing vine, savour authentic South African ‘bunny chow’ and ‘shisanyama’ and conclude the day with a curated fine wine tasting at the Time Out Market. Cape Town’s culinary journey is nothing short of extraordinary and this tour is an absolute must,” said Brendan McCarthy, Operations and Product Manager at Wilderness Touring Cape Town.
