You're invited: SA Tourism school in the UK

South African Tourism will be hosting an SA Tourism School in the UK in November, targeting British travel agents of how best to sell South Africa to UK consumers.

South African Tourism will host South African Tourism School in the UK in November and is reaching out to local stakeholders to take part as exhibitors.

The initiative will take place on November 14 in Manchester, November 15 in Birmingham, November 16 in Bristol, and November 17 in London.

SA Tourism School is targeting British travel agents who have limited or no knowledge of how best to sell South Africa to UK consumers. “The initiative provides an opportunity for South African stakeholders to meet these travel agents face to face and update them on their products, experiences and destinations,” SAT said in a statement.

“The aim of SA Tourism School is to improve agents’ knowledge of the country and encourage them to recommend South Africa to their clients over alternative destinations,” explains Tolene van der Merwe, SA Tourism’s UK Country Manager.

Each day there will be a full-day training session, from 09h00 to 16h00, and all agents will be invited to participate in a competition. Each day, the first prize will be a holiday in South Africa, with the second prize a place on a familiarisation trip. All participating exhibitors are required to contribute toward the holidays and can offer support on the fam trip, to gain further exposure.

Exhibitors can attend with a maximum of two representatives. Spaces are limited, so stakeholders are advised to reserve their place as soon as possible.
