Jason Vanporppal, a 26-year-old skateboarder from Los Angeles, California, is known for long-distance skate expeditions, including a reported coast-to-coast journey across the US completed in 76 days and a skate across Japan in 50 days.
In his latest undertaking, he skated from Uganda to South Africa, documenting the 106-day journey on social media to raise funds for the construction of a skatepark in Uganda.
He began the trip in Kampala in February and arrived at Cape Town’s City Bowl Skatepark on May 26, reportedly covering 6 000km along the way.
Cape Town Tourism and fans gathered to celebrate his arrival.
