Airlink will launch twice-weekly direct flights between Cape Town and Mauritius from October 2, the airline’s first route to the island.
The airline’s new Embraer E195-E2 flagship aircraft will service the route. The aircraft can accommodate 124 passengers (12 business class and 112 economy), with only window and aisle seats.
“Our new flagship aircraft makes it possible for Airlink to conveniently connect Cape Town with Mauritius. Cape Town is an important source market and connecting hub for leisure and business travellers wanting to travel to the island while avoiding the hassle and additional time connecting in Johannesburg,” said de Villiers Engelbrecht, Airlink CEO.
Airlink said its schedule for the route was being designed for leisure travellers to maximise their holiday time and for corporate travellers to enhance their business itineraries without disruptive late-night or early-morning departures and arrivals.
