Border post lodge to be rebuilt after fire

A fire burned down part of the Cornwall Safari Lodge in Southern Botswana last year.

Cornwall Safari Lodge in Southern Botswana, near the Bray Border Post, is undergoing a rebuild after a fire burned down part of the lodge last year.

Heather Strumpher, Owner, told Tourism Update that six of eight rooms had been affected.

“Six rooms burned down in the devastating fire.  Nobody was booked in the lodge and no one was injured.’’

Strumpher said rebuilding started in March last year and was expected to be completed next month. A new restaurant is also being built.

Facilities at the lodge include a conference venue that can accommodate 30 delegates, a swimming pool and a tennis court.
