Botswana: Luxury tents for Goo-Moremi Gorge

Goo-Moremi Gorge has started construction of eight luxury tents and a restaurant.

Wendy Phaletshane, current Park Manager, told Tourism Update that construction of the tents and restaurant had already commenced and they were hoping that they would be ready for the festive season. “The eight tents will be fully furnished with beds, outside furniture for the deck, bath, shower, toilet and air-conditioning.’’

Goo-Moremi Gorge currently has self-catering accommodation chalets that can accommodate up to 30 people.  It also has five campsites, four of which can accommodate up 10 guests and one that takes 15.

The restaurant will also have a bar and there will be a swimming pool and conference facilities.

Goo-Moremi is about 100 km from Martin’s Drift border in Tswapong Hills. The main attraction is the gorge, which has five waterfalls that run year round. It is also home to endangered Cape vultures. A variety of other species of birds and game such as zebras, eland and gemsbok can also be seen.
