Comair and BA renew partnership

COMAIR Limited has renewed its licence agreement with British Airways. The original agreement was signed in 1996 making this the 11th year that the two airlines have been operating as partners.

The airline said it has given customers from the UK and the rest of Europe the option of flying directly to Johannesburg and Cape Town on BA flights and connecting to one of the domestic and regional services offered by Comair.

Roger Maynards, BA director of investments and alliances, said: “They (Comair) have certainly added value to our global business over the years. They have done an exceptional job flying the British Airways brand in Africa.”

Comair’s joint ceo, Erik Venter, said: “Future plans to grow the brand are currently centred on creating a more extensive African footprint with new routes in the pipeline.”
