Dulini Collection to close lodges next year for upgrades

The Dulini Collection will close two lodges for upgrades and renovations.

The Dulini Collection advises that there will be no bookings in the system over the 2018 closure dates for both River Lodge and Leadwood Lodge, both in the Sabi Sand Game Reserve in Mpumalanga. Work has already taken place to maintain and upgrade the lodges since the formation of the Dulini Collection.

River Lodge will be closed from February 1 until May 14. During this time, suite seven will be refurbished and used as an emergency room. Suite eight will be converted to a gym and a walk-in wine cellar will be built. The lodge entrance and main area will be upgraded and a new main kitchen, workshop, laundry, staff accommodation and water plant will be built.

Leadwood Lodge will be closed from September 28 until November 12, 2018. The arrivals area will be redesigned and landscaped and walkways will be decked. The main lodge will be re-thatched and re-decked. The dining area will be extended and stairs to the lounge will be removed, expanding the lounge area and improving the layout. A gym will be built, all suites will be re-thatched and re-decked, and upgrades will be made to the kitchen and storeroom. A new butler’s station and staff area will be built.
