Dulini River Lodge reopens following major upgrade

Dulini River Lodge in the Sabi Sands reopens, following extensive upgrades and refurbishments.

Dulini River Lodge, situated on the perennial Sand River in the Sabi Sands Game Reserve, bordering the Kruger National Park, reopened after the long-awaited completion of its major upgrade and refurbishment.

The lodge was redesigned to emphasise its riverine setting, from its entrance through the trees to its cantilevered deck, which offers a prime vantage point to spot visiting leopards, which are frequently seen around the lodge.

The main lodge building has been completely renovated and refurbished, offering guests views of the Sand River. Suite bathrooms have been rebuilt entirely, modernising and extending them to open on to a stone-clad outside shower. All decks have been replaced and the entrance has been completely upgraded and altered. There is also a new main kitchen, laundry and water plant, and soft refurbishments in all the rooms and main lodge.

The lodge boasts six luxurious suites, offering guests complete privacy and views over the Sand River and the savannah beyond.

Each suite features a lounge area, deck, and a plunge pool overlooking the river. Suites have both ceiling fans and air-conditioning, tea- and coffee-making facilities, a mini bar, safe and hairdryers. The total room size, including the outdoor area measures 150 sqm.

Further upgrades include new safari vehicles equipped with binoculars, ponchos and camera mounts; plunge pools have been heated; and landscaping done around the lodge.

Dulini River Lodge now boasts a new gym with a training pool, and a walk-in wine cellar is featured in the main lodge area.

The new interiors are textured with cool, neutral lines complementing washed wood and organic lines.

Dulini River Lodge presents a signature safari experience in the company of expert guides in exclusive six-seater game viewing vehicles. Skilled Shangaan trackers and professional rangers tailor their drives around guests’ interests and share their knowledge.

Children aged eight and over are welcome at Dulini and River Lodge and are charged 50% of the full adult sharing rate when sharing with at least one adult. For full-camp bookings, children of any age are welcome. This applies to all three of Dulini’s lodges – Dulini, River Lodge, and Leadwood Lodge.

There is a Safari Shop on the property as well as a Dulini curio shop, which is dedicated to key fundraising for its outreach work. 50% of the profit made from the curio shop sales goes directly towards the EsiDuini Community Trust.
