East African operators complete merger

The Elephant Pepper Camp in the Masai Mara, Kenya, is one of the newly acquired properties part of the Elewana Collection.

Elewana Collection has completed its acquisition of Cheli & Peacock Group of Companies, which received final government approval at the end of January.

The acquisition will see the Cheli & Peacock properties – Elsa’s Kopje, Elephant Pepper Camp, Joy’s Camp, Tortillis Camp, Kitich Camp and Lewa Safari Camp – merge under the banner of the Elewana Collection to form a group of 14 properties across northern Tanzania, Kenya and Zanzibar.

Cheli & Peacock Safaris will continue to act independently of the Elewana Collection under the leadership of Stefano and Liz Cheli

A formal launch of the newly merged group is expected to take place by the middle of the year.
