Emirates will begin a daily Airbus A380 service from Dubai to Mauritius from December 16.
The new flight will replace one of the current three-class Boeing 777-300 services, adding 153 seats each way on the route each day.
Flights will depart Dubai International Airport at 03h10 and arrive in Mauritius’s Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport at 09h40. The return flight will leave Mauritius at 18h20 and arrive in Dubai at 01h10 the next day.
Thierry Antinori, Emirates Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer, said the decision to increase capacity was strategic. “There has been growing demand to support leisure traffic to the region and the extra capacity will serve multiple destinations across our network in Europe, Middle East and Asia, with seamless connectivity through our Dubai hub.”
Last December Emirates commenced a double-daily service to Mauritius, up from the three flights a week it had operated since 2002. The flights operate on a codeshare basis with Air Mauritius.
