MyCiTi shuttle service launched a free park and ride service between the Lower Tafelberg bus stop, at Kloof Nek, and the Table Mountain Aerial Cableway entrance in Cape Town, effective August 15.

The service will operate daily from 07h00-19h00 in summer and 07h30-18h30 in winter.  Buses depart every 20 minutes.

The Table Mountain Aerial Cableway Company contracted the MyCiTi service to provide all Table Mountain visitors and hikers with a free shuttle service along Tafelberg Road along route 110.

Free parking is available at the bottom of Tafelberg Road and the MyCiTi bus service will be available from Cape Town CBD and Camps Bay travelling to Kloof Nek. Travellers can use a myconnect or single trip card for this route.

“This is an exciting first step towards more park and ride facilities being provided to visitors at Heritage sites across South Africa,” said Sabine Lehmann, MD of the Table Mountain Aerial Cableway Company. “The free shuttle service will also reduce traffic and parking congestion along Tafelberg Road.”
