Due to the recent rainfall in the Garden Route National Park, parts of Goudveld and Jubilee Creek have been damaged as a result of flooding.

The park has had an additional 40mm of rain after the 100mm that was measured on September 1.

"This has caused damage in Goudveld (an old mining town in the middle of the forest) and a nearby popular picnic spot (Jubilee Creek)" according to GRNP Senior Section Ranger, Dominique du Toit.

All the cycling routes are back up as are most picnic areas and hiking routes. Other activities, including segways, are operating normally again.

A ranger team is on standby in Tsitsikamma to assist in the event of emergency evacuation on all trails.
