CAPE Town is back in the running to reap the benefits of 2010, following government approval for the redevelopment of Green Point Stadium and the urban park at Green Point Common. Construction of the stadium was delayed when residents objected on the grounds of negative environmental, visual and noise impacts. Provincial minister, Tasneem Essop, says she has addressed residents’ concerns on the visual impact of the stadium by moving the location to the golf course site, rather than the existing stadium site.
