Harare hotel celebrates 100 years with firework display

The hotel celebrated its 100th anniversary with a firework display.

The five-star Meikles Hotel in Harare celebrated 100 years of operation since its opening on November 15, 1915. The hotel hosted a gala banquet, fireworks, a vintage car parade and a high tea to mark the anniversary.

Today the hotel occupies two tower blocks overlooking Africa Unity Square and has over 300 rooms and suites, banqueting rooms, restaurants and bar. 

“We are very proud of the achievement of a century of excellence and we look forward to guests enjoying the vintage and classic car run and the fireworks,” said GM of Meikles Hotel, Tinashe Munjoma.
