The Marine in Hermanus is open again after upgrading its ground floor public areas. The reception, cocktail bar, Pavilion Restaurant and connecting public spaces of the 120-year-old property were all upgraded. No structural changes were made to the historic building to preserve its architectural character.
The Marine has been a feature of Hermanus since 1902 and part of The Liz McGrath Collection since 1998.
“This refurbishment marks an exciting new chapter for The Marine,” says Jacqui Elliott, CEO of The Liz McGrath Collection. “While we have carefully refreshed and elevated the guest experience, the heart and soul of this remarkable hotel remain unchanged.”
