New COO to spearhead Mossel Bay’s tourism campaign
Mossel Bay’s tourism campaign, Iconic Mossel Bay, will be spearheaded by the new Chief Operations Officer, Lieschke Steven-Jennings, who was appointed at the start of this month.
Steven-Jennings started at Mossel Bay Tourism in September 2020 as a membership liaison, a position that she held for two years.
In September last year, she became the Acting Chief Operations Officer, where she took charge of the Mossel Bay Tourism brand by ensuring the smooth running of internal operations, including the promotion of campaign collateral, amongst other duties.
Steven-Jennings has extensive experience in training and development, project management and event planning.
She also spent 20 years promoting Qatar as a tourist and education destination.
The campaign is aimed at highlighting the attractions of the area as well as the surrounding towns of the Greater Mossel Bay district. These include: Danabaai, Boggomsbaai, Vleesbaai, Herbertsdale, Friemersheim, Klein Brakrivier, Groot Brakrivier, Glentana and Hartenbos.

The Zambezi Queen Collection appoints new Sales Manager
The Zambezi Queen Collection has appointed Glenn Patel as its new Sales Manager. Patel will work alongside Lisa Schmidt, looking after sales for South Africa, as well as key global markets.
Patel brings with him an impressive industry track record, quickly working his way up the ladder due to his vibrant personality and ability to make guests immediately feel at home.
He began his career as a maintenance handyman at a three-star hotel in Cape Town before being welcomed into the front office team, and continually rising in the ranks ever since.
“I’ve been privileged to be involved in many different aspects of South African tourism over the years, granting me a holistic understanding of the industry. I’ve worked as a Reservations Manager for Chiswick Moran Hotel, in sales and marketing for The Liz McGrath Collection, and as Head of Customer Success for RoomRaccoon Hotel Tech, to name just a few highlights of my career journey thus far,” said Patel.
“It feels good to be here. The industry has welcomed me back to where I belong,” he added.
