LEGACY Hotels and Resorts has been awarded the management contract for the Iranja Lodge in Nosy Iranja, Madagascar. Nosy Iranja, also known as “Turtle’s Island”, consists of two islands connected by a sandbank and is accessible by a 70-minute speedboat trip from Nosy Be. The lodge consists of 28 suites and a villa overlooking the ocean reef. It is currently undergoing its first phase of refurbishment, which will see a complete upgrade of the kitchen and dining facilities. State-of-the-art conference equipment will also be installed and a second, private restaurant on the beach will be available for group functions. Fishing and diving equipment has been replaced and boats for recreational activities have had GPS and two-way radios installed. The refurbishment should be completed by December.
