Monday Smile: Pin the tail on the Zebra

A zoo in Cairo was caught out recently when Mahmoud Sarhani posted a picture of its zebra on Facebook.

It turned out that the zebra, which featured some strange markings, was actually a donkey that zoo keepers had painted black and white, the Daily Mail reports.

“On closer inspection of the ass, you can note a few things,” the article says. “The long floppy ears which bear more resemblance to that of a donkey's ears than the more rounded satellite dish-style ears of a zebra.” It continues, “…rudimentary glance upon the animal would tell you the stripes look very strange and smudged on the face, not like the majestic zebra we all know and love.”

The International Gardens Park has denied the animal is anything but an actual zebra.
