A new boutique hotel, the Crowned Eagle Boutique Hotel, is set to open in Kariba, Zimbabwe, by the end of the year.
The hotel, which will have 13 deluxe rooms, will be situated at Mica Point, Spokesperson Quinten de Lange says. Construction of the hotel is already under way.
De Lange says children under three years will be accommodated free of charge and those from three to 11, who are sharing a room with an adult, will be charged 50% of the adult sharing rate per night. Children aged 12 years and above will be charged as adults. If two children require their own room and are less than 12 years, one pays the full adult sharing rate and the other pays 50%.
Optional activities include half-day tours of Kariba, the dam wall, Santa Barbara Chapel, Kariba Heights and Mahombekombe Township.
Other activities include a cruise on Lake Kariba, game drives, fishing, bird watching and walking safaris in the nearby Matusadona National Park.
