Despite the significant strides made by Mozambique in developing safari and beach offerings, the majority of respondents to our latest poll are not quite ready to book clients on a single-country, bush and beach itinerary.
A total of 57% of respondents said Mozambique has not matured to the extent where they would book such an itinerary for clients. Just 18% said they would while 25% of respondents were “Unsure”.
Are clients actively asking for family-run lodges?
As recently covered by Tourism Update, several flagship properties in Southern and East Africa are transitioning away from larger brands to adopt family-led operations. Owners say the shift is motivated by the desire to preserve authenticity and regain freedom from corporate benchmarks.
Tengile River Lodge and Kirkman’s Camp MD Savannah Saad said the move is in line with a broader travel trend of aversion to big brands and attraction to smaller offerings.
