Emirates has appointed Orhan Abbas as Senior Vice President, Commercial Operations, Latin America, Central and Southern Africa. Abbas joined Emirates as a management trainee in 1998 and has since held various management and leadership positions. He holds a degree in Business Administration from Regents College in Albany in New York.
The Elewana Group has announced the appointments of Vinay Sapra as Director of Sales and Nicole Kanz as Group Sales and Marketing Manager.
Boni Mchunu took up the position of Tourism KZN GM on September 1. She has been with Tourism KZN for the seven years, where she led organisational projects as trade manager and region manager for the UK and Americas. These projects included Tourism INDABA, the provincial brand alignment, and launching the Trade Quarterly growth forum.
Travelstart has appointed Michelle Kleu as its new Country Manager. Her appointment follows the departure of former Country Manager Leeanne Melton.

The Twelve Apostles Hotel and Spa in Cape Town has announced the appointment of Christo Pretorius as its new Executive Chef. Pretorius was promoted to the position from his role as Executive Sous Chef at the Red Carnation property. His work experience includes positions held at Kurland Hotel, Tsala Treetop Lodge, De Huguenot Estate and the Cape Royale Hotel.
Pretorius will be assisted by new Executive Sous Chef Chris Mare, who joins The Twelve Apostles Hotel from his previous position as Executive Head Chef at Blaauwklippen Wine Estate.
Rylan Ramsamy has been appointed Executive Chef at Montecasino, where he will oversee the food and beverage offering of company-owned restaurants on the precinct. Ramsamy has a Diploma in Culinary Arts from the City & Guilds Institution and a Chef Central Australian Certificate 3 in Hospitality Commercial Cookery. He has been with Tsogo Sun since 2011 when he joined Southern Sun Grayston in Sandton as a Senior Sous Chef.
