Malawi’s new Tourism Minister
Dr Michael Usi has been appointed Malawi’s new Minister of Tourism, Culture and Wildlife by President Lazarus Chakwera.
Usi is a movie star, playwright, and musician. He is currently the Vice Chair of United Transformation Movement.
ICCA elects new Leaders for Africa Chapter
Taubie Motlhabane and Jacinta Nzioka have been elected Chapter Chair and Deputy respectively of the International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA) Africa region.
Motlhabane is currently CEO of the Cape Town International Convention Centre. She holds a Masters in global marketing as well as a Bachelor’s degree in communications and has over 29 years’ experience in both the private and public business sphere.
Nzioka is currently Kenya’s National Convention Bureau National Co-ordinator. She was Director of Marketing of the Kenya Tourism Board for seven years.


Sun International appoints safety and health manager
Sun International has appointed Lwazi Mswelanto as the Safety, Health and Environment Manager of Sun City Resort.
Mswelanto has over a decade’s experience in Safety, Health, Environment and Quality Management and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Science, BSc Hons, and Advanced Diploma in Management.
He is a registered Professional Scientist (SACNASP) and a registered OHS Practitioner with the South African Institute for Occupational Health and Safety.
Mswelanto serves as a member of the COVID-19 Steering Committee for the North West Police Provincial Commissioner as expert adviser on Occupational Health and Safety, and Infectious Waste management matters.
