People on the move: Club Med appoints Head of Sales, Transport and Customer Care

Club Med Southern Africa appoints Nathan Stubbs as Head of Sales, Transport and Customer Care.

Club Med Southern Africa has appointed Nathan Stubbs as Head of Sales, Transport and Customer Care to its Southern Africa team.

Stubbs will be responsible for driving growth and sales in the South African market; educating guests about the Club Med brand and the value of its holidays; enriching the client experience; and ensuring that customer service in SA matches the client experience expected across Club Med resorts.

In addition to driving growth of the brand’s Indian Ocean holidays, Stubbs’ expertise of Europe and snow holidays will further promote these to the South African market.

Born in the UK, Stubbs has a Business Management Degree from Leeds Beckett University.

Shafiul Syed recently took office as the Managing Director-Accountable Manager for Coastal Aviation in Tanzania. He brings 27 years of aviation experience and three years’ offshore senior management experience to the organisation.

Before joining Coastal Aviation, Syed led major brand organisations through business and culture change, with his leadership and commitment to safety, strategy and the customer as key success factors. Most recently, he worked as a consultant, helping aviation companies with start-ups, turnaround and business growth around the world. Previously Syed was CEO of Aero Contractors of Nigeria Limited and the MD of Atlantic Aviation. 

Having studied Air Transport Engineering at the City University in London, Syed started his aviation career with British Airways as an undergraduate engineer, and went on to assume roles such as Boeing 747-400 Line Maintenance engineer, Production Controller to BA Engineering’s Landing Gear overhaul facility, Operations Scheduler, Customer Services Manager through to Sales Manager and culminating as GM for BA’s entire operations in West Africa.

Conni Lyners has been appointed General Manager for BON Hotel Swakopmund in Namibia. She was born and raised in the country, then went on to achieve a Diploma in Hotel and Tourism Management, and a Diploma in Strategic Marketing Management.

Lyners started as a waitress at the Novotel London Heathrow, followed by work in various top hotels across the globe.

Her attitude and understanding of local tourism, hospitality, people and the community make her an asset at BON Hotel Swakopmund, the group said in a statement.
