People on the move: Emirates appoints Country Manager for Zimbabwe

Emirates Airline has appointed Nasser Bahlooq as Country Manager for Zimbabwe. Bahlooq’s appointment was one of several across Africa and the Middle East.

He previously managed the Dubai-based airline’s commercial activities in Yinchuan, China, and most recently, Yangon, Myanmar, where he helped support the launch of flights to Phnom Penh, Cambodia.

Thierry Antinori, Emirates' CEO said as the airline continued to develop its operations in the Middle East, the Gulf Cooperation Council and Africa, the unique backgrounds, experience and skills of each of the newly appointed members of its commercial team would further strengthen the airline’s commercial and business operations and drive its strategic initiatives.

Emirates is one of the few international airlines that fly into Harare.

The Marine Hotel in Hermanus, Western Cape, recently appointed award-winning hotelier, Sebastian Berinato, as GM. He has over 40 years’ experience in the hospitality industry.

Travel technology company, Amadeus, has appointed Antoine Medawar as Senior Vice President for the Middle East and Africa. He will be based in Dubai at the Amadeus offices.
