As of June 1, Sylvia Rasemann and Léon Noordermeer took over the management of Severin Safari Camp at Tsavo West National Park in Kenya. The German/Dutch couple have many years of experience in the running African safari accommodations.

Noordermeer began his career in various restaurants in France and The Netherlands and has worked as Operations Manager with a focus on Food & Beverage at Swahili Beach Resort on the Kenyan coast. In 2011 he took over as GM in Tanzania at Mapito Tented Camp in the Serengeti National Park together with Rasemann.

Rasemann's first GM position was at Swahili Beach Resort. With a Masters of Science in Building/Civil Engineering she previously held several technical leadership positions at Tiwi Beach Resort, on the South Coast of Mombasa.

Rasemann's duties will focus on administration and operations, while trained chef, Noordermeer, will bring his previous hotel experience to the kitchen and guest services.

"We are looking forward to a strong, dedicated couple with a vision that will enrich our team at Severin Safari Camp with its extensive expertise, consistency and peace of mind," said CEO, Sebastian Severin Schulte.

The appointment of Rasemann and Noordermeer marks the end of an era, as for more than ten years, German couple, Manja Seifert and Jürgen Pietz, ran the camp at the Tsavo River.

Seifert and Pietz will return to Germany after a private holiday in Kenya. Back in Europe they plan to look for new challenges in the hotel and gastronomy sector.

"Seifert and Pietz have developed the camp into one of the leading safari accommodations in Kenya and we wish them all the best on their further journey,” concluded Severin Schulte.
