Taj Hotels Palaces Resorts Safaris recently announced the appointment of Mark Wernich as General Manager of Taj Cape Town.
CEO of Taj Hotels Palaces Resorts Safaris, Puneet Chhatwal comments: “We are confident he (Wernich) is the right person to take Taj Cape Town forward and are excited to see how he evolves its already strong offering. His depth of experience, honed over a stellar career spanning 25 years, will bring immeasurable value to our special Cape Town hotel.”
Prior to joining Taj Cape Town, Wernich was with Preferred Hotels & Resorts as well as some of Africa’s biggest hospitality players such as Faircity, The Protea Hotel Group and The Rezidor Hotel Group.
Wernich was born in Cape Town and holds a diploma in Hotel, Catering and Institutional Management from the Cape Town Hotel School, and comes with 25 years’ experience in the industry, encompassing luxury resort and city hotel management, as well as new property launches, marketing, distribution and food and beverage.

Tammy Sirilli has been appointed Sales and Marketing Manager at Magic Transfers.
La Colombe in the Western Cape recently promoted James Gaag to Executive Chef from Head Chef.
Gaag will be working daily with the chefs from La Colombe, Foxcroft and La Petite Colombe.
