Phalaborwa gate at Kruger expected to be closed

Guests planning to enter the Kruger National Park through Phalaborwa Gate on Wednesday are advised to use Orpen and Punda Maria gates as an alternative.

Kruger’s Phalaborwa Gate is expected to be closed Wednesday because of likely picketing by members of the community from 06h00, the Kruger National Park has advised.

SANParks spokesperson, Reynold Thakhuli, said the picketing might result in a shutdown of business around the town, including the Phalaborwa Gate into the park. “As a precautionary measure, guests who will be entering the Kruger National Park through Phalaborwa Gate are advised to use alternative routes such as Orpen and Punda Maria gates for entering and exiting the park until further notice.”
