Registrations have officially opened for this year’s Africa Youth in Tourism Innovation Summit, set to take place from May 31 to June 2 in Windhoek.
Hosted by Africa Tourism Partners in collaboration with UNWTO and BDO, the summit, together with the associated Innovation Challenge, seeks to recognise innovation within the tourism space, rewarding ideas and solutions that have a positive impact on tourism.
The summit will highlight tourism youth empowerment initiatives and trade offerings, while connecting delegates with leading players in the field of innovation, with the goal of providing a transformative platform for African youth, start-ups, entrepreneurs, students and small enterprises.
Through the summit, the top five finalists of the Africa Youth in Tourism Innovation Challenge will have an opportunity to connect with industry leaders, mentors and potential funders and/or partnerships.
The Challenge is open to African youth and entrepreneurs below the age of 35, with nominees required to clearly indicate the vision of their projects, evidence of innovation in solving industry challenges, sustainability, timelines and the support required.
Innovation Challenge rewards:
- $1 000 grant seed for the winner.
- $500 grant seed for 1st and 2nd runners up.
- Complimentary enrolment for short courses provided by UNWTO.
- Complimentary enrolment as a trainee of the Africa Youth Innovation Hub.
