The 2026 Run for Rangers in the Babanango Game Reserve, KwaZulu-Natal, from July 31 to August 3 had the biggest field of participants yet with 22 runners committed to the challenge compared to 19 last year.
The annual event raises funds to support wildlife rangers working on the front line of conversation. It generated more than R261 000 (US$16 000) ahead of this latest event.
Participants completed a 100km, two-day adventure through the reserve alongside the wildlife rangers they are supporting.
Run for Rangers Founder Harry Bailey said: “Every year, we’re reminded that people want to do more and that they want to be part of something meaningful. Watching the support for our rangers continue to grow is incredibly encouraging and shines a spotlight on our rangers whose work often goes unseen.”
