Satsa and SAT to host speed-marketing sessions in Limpopo

The sessions will focus on opportunities in the Vhembe district, which includes Venda, Soutpansberg, Mapungubwe and the northern Kruger.

Satsa, in partnership with South African Tourism, will conduct speed marketing sessions in Limpopo from November 9-11 when selected operators will be introduced to some of the products on offer in the province.

Evelien Klokman, Owner and Travel Designer at Kukummi Safaris, says speed marketing events are especially effective when they are held in lesser known areas.

“Tour operators usually don’t take, or have, the time to do in-depth research of new areas. A speed marketing event presents them with a wide range of products that they can start using in these unknown areas, making it much easier for them to develop strong packages.”

She says the events also give small businesses the opportunity to access tour operators and market their products.

“Limpopo is an important place to have a speed marketing event as it has many unknown small businesses. These products are easy for tour operators to sell as they can be combined with tours into Botswana, Zimbabwe, and Mozambique, and can easily be accessed from Johannesburg. Further to this, international tourists are increasingly looking for experiences that include arts, culture, and storytelling – Limpopo is the poster child for that.”

The sessions will focus on opportunities in the Vhembe district, which includes Venda, Soutpansberg, Mapungubwe and the northern Kruger.

“These areas are bursting with vibrant cultural experiences, natural beauty and wildlife, but are often bypassed by operators,” says Klokman.
