Seychelles attracts Middle East MICE market

The Seychelles Tourism Board (STB) showcased the islands’ potential recently as a business events destination at the Meetings Arabia and Luxury Travel Congress.

STB representatives and specialist destination management company, 7° South, represented the island nation at the congress held in Dubai last month. Discussions focused on MICE and insights that appealed to the Middle East market.

The STB said in a statement that the team had presented the islands as an ideal destination for business meetings and luxury travel, only a four-hour direct flight from the Middle-East regions.

The islands have always been associated with being a romantic destination for honeymooners or weddings, but “we are here to share with our trade partners that Seychelles is a great destination even for MICE and business travel,” said STB’s Dubai representative, Ahmed Fathallah. He added that there were plenty of properties that catered for the MICE market.
