The Secret Diamond Chamber, launched early July, has been included in the Shimansky Diamond Experience Tour in the Rockwell Hotel in Green Point, Cape Town.
The experience operates seven days a week, from 09h00 to 19h00, and showcases the artistry that goes into unearthing, shaping and presenting the some of the finest diamonds.
Hidden behind a disguised entrance and sanctuary to precious stones, the Secret Diamond Chamber is the most exclusive part of the Shimansky Rockwell Diamond Experience. Inside, small groups and VIP gatherings can experience the story behind each diamond.
The diamond mining tools showcase the visceral process of delivering the stones from the depths of the earth and with customised equipment, help the expert host illustrate how Shimansky artisans shape and shine diamonds to craft them into the brand’s own renowned cuts and designs.
Furthermore, guests embarking on this experience get the opportunity to feel rough diamond replicas.
Shimansky’s patented cuts and designs are showcased in the Secret Diamond Chamber, where guests can view the full range of custom designs, including Millennium, one of South Africa’s sought-after diamonds; the Evolym, highlighting the stones with 36-degree exposure to light; Brilliant 10, which offers 25% more ‘sparkle’ than any other diamond cut in the world; My Girl, the world’s first square-cut diamond with a diamond-shaped table, and the only internationally patented diamond cut to originate from South Africa; and Eight Hearts, a 57-facet round brilliant-cut diamond.
The Shimansky Rockwell Diamond Experience offers groups, large and small, a journey through the creation of jewellery, giving guests the opportunity to learn about the cutting-edge techniques employed by the Shimansky brand with diamonds and tanzanite as their focal point. All in all, guests witness a functioning, state-of-the-art jewellery workshop.
Visitors on the experience can co-create a customised item of Shimansky jewellery, and take delivery within 48 hours.
They can also relax in the bar, while enjoying a South African craft gin, wine or whisky tasting experience.
While large groups are comfortably accommodated at the Shimansky Rockwell Diamond Experience, the Secret Diamond Chamber can only accommodate small groups of up to five guests at a time, therefore booking is essential.
