Songa Africa to open Nyungwe lodge

Songa Africa has opened bookings for Icyayi Songa Lodge in the foothills of Rwanda’s Nyungwe Forest National Park. The lodge, due to open in May, features a tea-inspired theme reflecting the surrounding plantations.

It will feature 20 suites including family villas. The 166 square metre suites include:

  • Private verandas
  • Living room
  • En-suite bathroom
  • Tea-inspired amenities
  • Mini bar
  • High-speed Wi-Fi and workspace

Communal areas include a tea bar, viewing deck, restaurant and gift shop.

On-site activities include guided tea plantation tours, tea processing workshops as well as tea blending and tasting classes. During the second phase of development, the lodge will introduce tea-infused spa and wellness treatments. 

Guests will also have access to the park’s canopy and nature walks, chimp trekking, bird watching and community ecotourism.
