SUN International has appointed Graham Wood as its new Chief Operating Officer: Hospitality, effective February 1.
Wood will oversee Sun International’s full hospitality segment, which includes marketing and sales functions for all hotels in South Africa (Sun Vacation Club; The Table Bay; The Maslow, Sandton; Sun City; and Wild Coast Sun) and the properties in Africa (Nigeria, Federal Palace; and Swaziland, Lugogo Sun and Royal Swazi Spa).
Wood has 24 years’ experience in the hospitality and gaming Industry, including financial, commercial, operational management and strategic leadership roles.
Most notably, he held the positions of Director of Operations: Sun City Resort (2003-2007) and Divisional Director Resorts (designate) in 2008, prior to his appointment as MD of Southern Sun Hotels. After leaving Tsogo Sun in 2013, Wood became MD of Valor Hospitality South Africa before starting his own consultancy, GIW Consulting.
Wood is a chartered accountant and furthered his studies at academic institutions in South Africa and the US.
