The latest statistics released by the Seychelles Tourism Board show the following five countries as the top source markets for arrivals last year.

  1. Germany took the lead with 50 476 arrivals, a 22% increase from 2016.
  2. France, 41 118, a drop of 5%.
  3. UAE, 28 209, up 15%.
  4. Italy, 23 716, up 4%.
  5. UK, 21 991, up 14%.

David Germain, Regional Director – Africa and The Americas, Seychelles Tourism Board (STB), said the Seychelles had gained more traction in 2017 through new exposure channels, specifically television and blogging platforms.

“These channels opened the destination up to market sectors that previously may not have considered Seychelles as a holiday destination,” adding that STB was anticipating further growth in arrivals this year. The Seychelles set a new record with nearly 350 000 arrivals last year.
