Thompsons Africa has added a new package to its Luxury Collection brand.
The new Cape Town & Regional luxury package – ‘Magic of the African Continent’ – is a 14-day tour that includes Cape Town, Victoria Falls and the Okavango.
Guests start their journey in Cape Town, with four nights at Ellerman House in Bantry Bay. At Ellerman House, guests can enjoy spectacular ocean views as well as a look at the owner’s extensive South African art collection. Highlights include a Helicopter Atlantico tour – a scenic flight around Cape Town – a champagne sunset cruise and a private full-day Peninsula tour that features a Seal Island cruise and visits to Cape Point Nature Reserve and the Boulders Beach penguin colony.
On day five, guests take a light aircraft flight to Tswalu Kalahari Reserve, South Africa’s largest private game reserve, where 100 000 hectares of malaria-free landscape is home to over 80 game species. Here, guests will dictate their own itinerary. Activities include horseback safaris, walking trails, rhino tracking and meerkat watching.
Guests fly to OR Tambo International Airport on day nine and connect to Victoria Falls, where two nights are spent at Elephant Camp. Situated in a private concession within the Victoria Falls National Park, Elephant Camp overlooks a waterhole. The tented suites are equipped with outdoor and indoor showers, baths, private lounges and mini bars. Here guests will meet the Wild Horizons elephants, sip sundowners at Batoka Gorge, take birding and nature walks, visit to the Victoria Falls Wildlife Trust and enjoy a private morning tour of the Falls.
On day 11, guests cross into Botswana and transfer to Kasane Airport for a light aircraft flight to the Okavango Delta to spend three nights at &Beyond’s Nxabega Okavango Tented Camp. The tented suites ate perched on raised wooden platforms and have private decks overlooking the floodplains of the Moremi Game Reserve. Here, guests can enjoy open-vehicle game drives and explore the remote Okavango Delta on motorised boat and traditional mokoro excursions.
On the last day they fly to Kasane Airport to connect to Johannesburg, where the tour ends.
