Nyasa Express Limited, trading as Ulendo Airlink has commenced regular scheduled flight services between Malawi’s major commercial centres of Lilongwe and Blantyre.
Market demand for additional capacity led the airline to develop schedules to compliment services already offered by the national carrier, Air Malawi.
Ulendo Airlink will initially operate seven flights a week between Blantyre and Lilongwe, with two services each weekend linking both Lilongwe and Blantyre to Club Makokola. Schedules to Likoma Island will operate with six frequencies each week. Flight times have been planned to offer convenient connections to international flights from Kamuzu International to Johannesburg, Nairobi and Addis Ababa.
The new scheduled flight services will be operated with a C208B Grand Caravan, offering 12 seats. Additional frequencies will be added to meet market demand before introducing Dornier 228 18-seater aircraft and ultimately Embraer120 30-seater aircraft as the airline builds market support and develops its route network.
