Wilderness unveils new privately guided exploration

Wilderness Safaris’ privately guided explorations are led by experienced guides and limited to seven guests.

Wilderness Safaris has unveiled three new explorations in Botswana along with a walking safari in Hwange, Zimbabwe.

The Into the Wilderness Botswana exploration is a six-night or seven-day journey during the peak season, which takes guests into Botswana’s Okavango Delta, with three nights at Xigera Camp, and in the Linyanti, with three nights at Linyanti Tented Camp.

The Okavango Channels and Plains exploration is a six-night or seven-day journey during the summer months from January to April. This itinerary sees guests spend three nights exploring the prime wildlife areas surrounding Gomoti Tented Camp followed by three nights at Xigera Camp.

The Trans-Okavango exploration is a nine-night or 10-day journey, offering guests the opportunity to walk, boat, fly and helicopter from camp to camp. Guests will stay at the Tubu Tree, Pelo, Xigera, Mombo and Chitabe Wilderness Safaris camps. This exploration has just one departure a year.

The Hwange Walking Safari takes place over four nights or five days and offers adventure-seekers the opportunity to explore Hwange’s wildlife-rich Linkwasha Concession by foot and vehicle. Guests will spend one night at Davison’s Camp, followed by two nights of wild camping in dome tents, and the final night at the Linkwasha Camp.

“Rather than simply being spectators, today’s experiential travellers tend to seek out highly personalised offerings that allow them to participate in the adventure,” said Simon Stobbs, Wilderness Safaris Explorations Manager. “Our Explorations, most of which take place in private wildlife concessions exclusive to Wilderness Safaris guests, have been created with this in mind and include a range of activities that allow our guests to experience the bush in a completely immersive way – whether it’s tracking wildlife on foot, or enjoying a dinner in the middle of the wilderness.”

Each exploration is led by an experienced guide from start to finish and limited to just seven guests, ensuring an intimate, personal experience as well as a ‘window seat’ on game-drive vehicles. The guides will share their in-depth knowledge with guests, while also tailoring the journey to the personal interests and preferences of the guests along the way. “Added to this, our guides are accomplished wildlife photographers in their own right, and are keen to share their tips and experience to ensure guests capture that perfect image to show their friends and family back home,” adds Stobbs.

There is no single supplement for new bookings. Guests also have the option of tailor-making their own exploration, ensuring a privately guided journey that meets their own requirements, dates and interests.
