Zambezi Mubala Lodge officially opens its doors

Zambezi Mubala Lodge is now open for business.

The Gondwana Collection’s newest lodge, the Zambezi Mubala Lodge in the far east of the Zambezi region received its first guest on November 1.

The lodge is located 40km east of Katima Mulilo on the Namibian Zambezi River, overlooking Zambia.

The lodge offers 18 double rooms, and two family cabins with en-suite bathrooms and views of the river landscape. Guests are ferried to the lodge by boat.

Formerly Kalizo Lodge, the property was completely rebuilt and transformed into the Zambezi Mubala Lodge. The architect, Sven-Erik Staby drew up the plans for the new property in an environmentally-friendly manner. Since Gondwana also acquired the nearby Island View Lodge, now named Zambezi Mubala Camp, it serves as the departure point for the boat trip to the lodge.

As from May 1, 2018 campsites and self-catering tents (glamping) will be available at Zambezi Mubala Camp.

Activities include fishing and birding excursions, as well as sunset cruises along the Zambezi River. Guests can also enjoy day trips to Victoria Falls, Chobe National Park, and other national parks in the area.
