Africa In Focus expands portfolio with Vic Falls property

Africa In Focus’ expands its portfolio with Matetsi Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe.

Africa In Focus recently announced that Matetsi Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe has joined its regional product portfolio, as of June 1, and will now be represented by its southern Africa team.

Matetsi Victoria Falls is set on a 15km stretch of the Zambezi River, and is made up of Matetsi River Lodge and Matetsi River House.

Matetsi River Lodge comprises two intimate river-facing camps. Each camp includes eight suites and one two-bedroom family suite. A personal butler is available to guests staying at River Lodge, with the option of booking a private safari vehicle.

Matetsi River House is a spacious exclusive-use villa, offering four air-conditioned, en-suite bedrooms and an array of facilities. Guests are looked after by a team consisting of a private chef, butler, guide and tracker.

River Lodge and River House guests can enjoy open-space East and West camp bars, bomas and social dining facilities, as well as the wine cellar which boasts an extensive wine list. Zimbabwean Executive Chef, Shane Ellis, provides a fresh, evolving menu of international and local foods.

Other amenities include al fresco lounge areas, a 20m lap pool flanking the river, a fitness studio, library, boardroom, shopping boutique, iPads for guest use, in-room Bluetooth speakers, a complimentary laundry service, as well as complimentary in-room and lodge Wi-Fi.

In-house activities include bird watching, walking safaris, massages, amateur and professional fishing, Zambezi River boat cruises and canoeing, morning, evening and night game drives with full-day game drives also available. Furthermore, children’s activities can be arranged with childminders.

In addition, Matetsi Victoria Falls also offers bespoke excursions to Victoria Falls, including the ‘Flight of the Angels’ scenic helicopter flight, guided tours of Victoria Falls and the rain forest, high tea overlooking the falls, and more.

Matetsi Victoria Falls is owned by John Gardiner, whose family has combined the family’s experience in luxury hospitality with their passion for conservation and social development in their homeland, in forming Matetsi Victoria Falls.

The Gardiners, together with local Architect Kerry Van Leenhoff, Hotelier Franco Rienzo and a team consisting of local artists, game rangers and hospitality staff, have created a safari experience and cultural experiences, showcasing the rich, varied beauty of Zimbabwe’s people and wilderness.
