Anantara opens Kafue River camp

Anantara Tented Camp Kafue River has opened for reservations.

The new 13-key camp, Anantara’s first tented safari property, is located in Zambia’s Kafue National Park.

The camp is elevated at least 3.5 metres above ground on timber platforms, allowing wildlife to move beneath it while providing views of the river.

The camp operates entirely on solar power and uses on-site water purification, bottling and treatment systems. According to Minor Hotels, single-use plastics have been eliminated, prefabricated structures were used to preserve existing trees and soft red lighting minimises disturbance for nocturnal wildlife.

The three Horizon Terrace Suites are elevated 14.3 metres above ground and accessed by a glass elevator. Each has an upper-level star bed and private viewing deck. The camp also has nine Pool and Bush Villas and a 400 square metre Presidential Villa.
