Bontebok National Park in Swellendam will begin a phased reopening on August 1 following extensive repairs after the park was significantly damaged by flooding in May.
The Western Cape park will initially reopen its six self-catering chalets, camp site and the Aloe Hill, Acacia and Termite hiking trails.
The park’s eight riverside chalets, which were damaged by the floods, are still undergoing refurbishment and are not yet available for bookings. Die Stroom Picnic Site and the Bushbuck Trail will also remain closed until rehabilitation work has been completed.
